Reiki: Ancient energy healing explained
Reiki is a Japanese-found energy healing practice, founded by Buddhist monk, Dr Mikao Usui
Usui Reiki is an ancient, Japanese-found energy balancing technique which I refer to as calling the soul to silence. Receiving a Reiki treatment feels like a beautiful zen vacation. The spiritual practice of Reiki benefits include; de-stress, deep relaxation, body healing, improved concentration, better sleep and overall emotional well being. Reiki is incredible at balancing mind, body and spirit, and it’s beautifully calming too.
A wonderful benefit of Reiki is that it is completely non-invasive. The universal healing energy flows through the body of the Reiki practitioner. From their heart, the Reiki practitioner allows the universal healing energy of Reiki to flow through their palm chakras and into the aura and body of the client. You remain fully dressed during a Reiki session and need not be touched at all. If you opt for a Crystal Reiki session, crystals are usually placed around your body or in the room, strategically. A few healing crystals may be placed on your forehead or in the palms of your hands, with permission granted by the Reiki practitioner, prior to your energy healing treatment.
Reiki is excellent at releasing tension. Clients often opt to have a Reiki session before major surgery. Reiki after surgery is also great for helping your body de-stress from the strain it has been exposed to. Just because you do not conscientiously experience the pain of invasive surgery, does not mean the body does not still experience great physical strain as a result of it. Reiki assists in clearing away the negative tension that remains stored behind in the body post-surgery. Negative energy stored in the body can lead to many pressing conditions, including but by no means limited to further future illnesses, such as cancer and weight-gain that simply cannot be rid of.
Reiki is a holistic wellness practice, serving only the greatest good of all. It remains completely detached from any and all forms of dogma, including religion of any kind. Reiki serves love and light, revering all forms of life on Earth, as all originates from and remains forever connected to it’s true origin: Source of All.

Dr Mikao Usui, the founder of Reiki, was Japanese born on 15 August 1865 to a wealthy Buddhist family. At some point during monastery training, Mikao Usui opted to spend time alone in a cave on Mount Kurama. For 21 days, Mikao fasted, meditated and prayed. On the morning of the twenty-first day he had an experience that changed his life forever. Ancient Sanskrit symbols were revealed to him. Usui used this profound experience to develop the body, mind and soul healing modality referred to as Usui Reiki or sometimes also Usui Shiki Ryoho.
